A planned 40-hectare extension of the vegetable farm at Janaale. The photograph shows the existing raised beds, which the new plots will follow.
The farm at Janaale grows onions and leafy vegetables on raised beds with drainage furrows between them.
The extension will bring a further 40 hectares of neighbouring land into production using the same layout. The work is land clearing, levelling, forming the beds and cutting the drainage.
The land has been surveyed and preparation is scheduled to start after the next harvest on the existing plots.
